Global Premier Soccer Announces Partnership with FC Bayern Munich

Bayern selects GPS as its exclusive North American Youth Partner

 

 

November 12th, 2014, New York and Boston: FC Bayern Munich, one of the most prestigious soccer clubs in the world and which also recently opened an office in New York City to expand its footprint in the U.S., has today announced an extensive partnership with Global Premier Soccer (GPS), one of the largest and most successful soccer clubs in the U.S..  The exclusive partnership will bring FC Bayern Munich’s Youth Academy, including its coaches, curriculum, official uniforms and importantly its principles and culture to more than 55,000 kids and 5000 coaches organized into over 75 soccer clubs supported by GPS across 11 states.

FC Bayern Munich has developed the talents of a number of current world champions via its Youth Academy such as Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Mueller and are currently coached by one of the highest profiles coaches in the world, Pep Guardiola.

This partnership solidifies FC Bayern Munich’s commitment to engaging the U.S. soccer community. FC Bayern Munich’s Youth Academy coaches will be in the U.S. on a regular basis to facilitate a real know-how transfer to GPS coaches as well as providing ongoing access to Bayern curriculum via twice-monthly distributions coupled with a monthly conference call for GPS Technical Staff.  FC Bayern will also establish Player Identification Programs throughout the US to identify players to go on trial in Germany every summer and work with GPS to establish GPS Bayern National Teams who will compete in National and International events.

Phillip Lahm, captain of FC Bayern Munich and the winning German National team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, stated: “I arrived at FC Bayern’s academy at 11 and everything was set up very professionally.  Without the youth team I couldn’t have achieved everything I’ve achieved so far.”
